Basketball Recap: Cedar Starts Season with Victory Against Providence Hall

Cedar had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 69-50 victory over the Providence Hall Patriots.

Ty Rowley had an outrageously good game as he posted 25 points and five boards. Those five rebounds gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Ryan, who earned ten points and three steals.

Cedar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Hall only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Providence Hall lost, don't look at Dallas Loutensock. Despite the final result, he put up 15 points. Ryker Jones was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Providence Hall's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cedar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-43 win against Northridge on the 21st. As for Providence Hall, they will head out to take on Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
