Baseball Game Preview: Priceville Bulldogs vs. James Clemens Jets

The Priceville Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the James Clemens Jets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Priceville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Priceville's offense. They lost 16-0 to Madison Academy on Saturday. Considering the last time the Bulldogs couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Priceville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colman Gann, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Gann's first of the season.

Meanwhile, James Clemens was able to grind out a solid win over Austin on Saturday, taking the game 7-4.

Will Votroubek looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

James Clemens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Priceville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-19.

Priceville suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to James Clemens in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
