Softball Recap: Redwood's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

If Redwood was riding high fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Golden West last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rangers fell 9-6 to the Clovis North Broncos on Monday. The Rangers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kenzie Cantu made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Redwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for Clovis North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4-1.

Redwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Buchanan on the 14th. As for Clovis North, they will face off against Hanford at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Bullpups have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.53 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
