Softball Game Preview: Elida Bulldogs vs. Parkway Panthers

Elida has won three straight games at home, while Parkway has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elida 3.6, Parkway 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Elida came out on top against Bath on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 9-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilly Sifrit was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Liv Walters was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Jackson, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Parkway faced off against Bath on Wednesday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 2-1.

Parkway's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Elida, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
