Softball Preview: Sacred Heart Academy Sharks vs. St. Mary's Lancers

The Sacred Heart Academy Sharks will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Mary's Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Sacred Heart Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Nardin Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 10-4 to the Gators. Sacred Heart Academy has not had much luck with Nardin Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Sydney Mosher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eileen Maney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Nichols 17-4. St. Mary's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexis Brown was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Lauren Payne was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
