Softball Recap: Cimarron-Memorial Has No Trouble Against Desert Pines

Cimarron-Memorial won the last time they faced Desert Pines and things went their way on Monday too. Cimarron-Memorial was the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over Desert Pines. That looming 19-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Jazlene Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Cimarron-Memorial got a massive performance out of Taylor Ramos, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-2. Those five stolen bases gave Ramos a new career-high. Jasmine Ponce was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs.

Cimarron-Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Pines only managed one hit.

Cimarron-Memorial now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Desert Pines, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
