Recap: Redbank Valley Bulldogs vs. Moniteau Warriors
Even though the Moniteau Warriors scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, the Redbank Valley Bulldogs still came out on top. Redbank Valley managed a 69-64 win over Moniteau. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Moniteau is ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Redbank Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kieran Fricko out in front who scored 17 points along with six steals. The match was Fricko's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Clouse, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Redbank Valley's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Moniteau, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Redbank Valley will head out on the road to face off against Keystone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Moniteau, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Karns City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Karns City's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
