Softball Recap: Tavares Bulldogs vs. Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Tavares and Mount Dora Christian Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Tavares took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Dora Christian Academy. Tavares was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Mount Dora Christian Academy earlier this season, when they won 7-3.
Bailey Rasmussen and Blakely Kite stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rasmussen scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Kite scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kite also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Tavares' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
