Baseball Game Preview: Lake Hornets vs. Forest Bearcats

Lake has gone 9-1 against Forest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lake Hornets will be playing at home against the Forest Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Lake will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Lake proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Eupora 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since March 30, 2024.

Trey Gray was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times he's played. Wyatt Bell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Forest didn't have quite enough to beat Scott Central on Saturday and fell 14-13.

Lake's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Lake took their victory against Forest in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 14-0. Will Lake repeat their success, or does Forest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
