Softball Recap: Fort Vancouver Trappers vs. Seton Catholic Cougars
Fort Vancouver extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-10 in the process. They fell 10-5 to the Seton Catholic Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.
As for Seton Catholic, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.
For Seton Catholic's part, Kenzie Kuhnhausen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Kuhnhausen posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ellie Travalia was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kingsley Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Vancouver will venture away from home to face off against Evergreen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Seton Catholic, they will head out to take on Klahowya at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
