Baseball Recap: Clayton Comes Up Short

Clayton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Overbrook, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Clippers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The Clippers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Clayton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Emerle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Justin Delaney also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Overbrook, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Clayton will head out on the road to face off against Camden County Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Clippers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Overbrook, they will be playing at home against Hammonton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
