Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Garrett Morgan came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against John F. Kennedy, but Precious Williams wouldn't allow it. The John F. Kennedy Fighting Eagles strolled past the Garrett Morgan Falcons with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 50-35 thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Aniya Love, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Garrett Morgan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anylaih Moore earned eight points and 13 boards. Moore is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games she's played. Tora McDuffie also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

John F. Kennedy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Garrett Morgan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
