Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral and Cheney squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Chaparral had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Makiya Maka paced Chaparral's offense, picking up five kills. Maka got some help from Emily Harding and her seven assists.

Among those leading the charge was Kenadi Thome, who had 12 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 21-19. As for Cheney, they are on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 26 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-10 record this season.

Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cheney, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Trinity Academy on the 25th.
