Basketball Game Preview: Evant Elks vs. Loraine Bulldogs

The Evant Elks will head out to challenge the Loraine Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Evant is leaving town to face Loraine after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Elks took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lometa on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Despite the loss, Evant saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cooper Standford shot 64% from the field on his way to 24 points and six boards. Matthew Santiago was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Loraine was beaten by Haskell 91-12 on Tuesday.
