They were dealt a 44-7 loss at the hands of the Pacifica Tritons. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Tritons: they've now lost five in a row.

Poni Maria threw for 89 yards and a touchdown. Victor Menendez was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Ivan Barajas rushed for 52 yards.

A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Dominic Duran and his top target Savion Taylor. Duran threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes while Taylor picked up 156 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards.

Oxnard's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pacifica, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Oxnard will head out to take on Bellflower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pacifica, they are taking a road trip to face off against Newbury Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacifica is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
