Basketball Recap: Charlee Bailey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tipton over Pine Creek

On Saturday, the Tipton Cardinals came up short against the Pine Creek Eagles and fell 59-52. The match marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlee Bailey, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Bailey is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Schlotzhauer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The game was Stewart's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leekaya Burke-Perryman, who posted 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Tipton and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Pine Creek, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Tipton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-52 victory against Iberia on the 17th. As for Pine Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-46 win against St. Teresa's Academy on the 16th.
