Basketball Recap: Talawanda Comes Up Short

Talawanda managed to keep up with Harrison until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Talawanda Brave lost 44-20 to the Harrison Wildcats. The game marked the Brave's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Harrison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelby Piepmeier, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Scudder, who earned 11 points.

Talawanda's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10. As for Harrison, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Talawanda and Harrison could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Talawanda (ranked 453rd) will meet West Clermont (ranked 82nd) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Harrison will take on Milford at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday down 72 places (99 vs. 27).
