Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Freeland's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Freeland unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 62-54 to the Dow Chargers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Chargers are ranked 143rd).

Freeland's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Dow, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Freeland Falcons duke it out with the Frankenmuth Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Frankenmuth will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Freeland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dow, they will square off against Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Dow knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Mt. Pleasant likes a good challenge.
