Baseball Recap: Auburn's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Auburn and Oswego pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played Oswego, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Maroons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bucs a 1-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Maroons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Myles McBride's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Auburn: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 4-7 otherwise.

The victory got Auburn back to even at 7-7. As for Oswego, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Auburn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bucs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
