Cedar Grove extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 6 this week by beating McNair, 41-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Cedar Grove was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Saints beat the Mustangs 41-7 earlier in the week.
Thanks to the talents of Spencer McManes and Milton Shelton Blessed Trinity has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. McManes leads the league in passing with 509 yards, while Shelton has rushed for 431 yards this season. McNair's Mike Minter leads the league in receiving yards with 302 on eight catches.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Cedar Grove takes on St. Pius X Catholic. The Saints' offense has scored 120 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Golden Lions have allowed only 44 on the year.
A big matchup in AAA Region 6 this week will be when St. Pius X Catholic takes on Cedar Grove. At the moment, the Golden Lions are in first, while the Saints are in fourth.
St. Pius X Catholic suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a bye. The Golden Lions had been ranked 24th, but fell to 26.
