Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Seguin

Seguin had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Fox Tech on Friday. The Seguin Matadors were the clear victor by a 63-37 margin over the Fox Tech Buffaloes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-41 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Corey Dailey, who went 10 of 20 en route to 26 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Miller, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

The win (which was Seguin's sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-13. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Fox Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 20 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-23 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seguin will challenge Lanier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seguin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Lanier likes a good challenge. As for Fox Tech, they will square off against Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edison has four straight victories, Fox Tech has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
