Football Game Preview: Walled Lake Northern Knights vs. Kettering Captains + How To Watch

The Walled Lake Northern Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Kettering Captains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walled Lake Northern has given up an average of 41.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Walled Lake Northern is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 41 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Milford on Friday. They were outmatched by the Mavericks and fell 49-9. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Mavericks are ranked 157th).

Despite the loss, Walled Lake Northern got top-tier performance from Reid Widmer, who rushed for 121 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Widmer also put up a receiving yard, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kettering, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Clarenceville with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 14-0.

Walled Lake Northern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kettering, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Walled Lake Northern couldn't quite finish off Kettering when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 21-18. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
