Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Burley

After losing to Minico the last time they met, Burley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Burley Bobcats were the clear victor by a 71-48 margin over the Minico Spartans on Tuesday. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Burley to victory were Adalynn Olmos and Audrey Castaneda. Olmos went 7 of 14 on her way to 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Castaneda went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Olmos is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ruby Taylor was another key player, going 6 for 9 on her way to 13 points and seven boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Burley was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Burley, bringing their record for this year to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Minico, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Burley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-43 defeat against Mountain Home on the 16th. As for Minico, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-18 loss against Pocatello on the 16th.
