Volleyball Recap: Chariho Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alexis Korus and Siena Ducharme + How To Watch

Chariho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Prout Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Chariho wouldn't go down easily and took Prout into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 15-7.

Despite the loss, Chariho had strong showings from Siena Ducharme, who had nine digs and three aces, and Alexis Korus, who had 17 digs, 14 kills, three aces, and two blocks.

Prout was led to victory by Brooke Rutherford and Lily Cui. Rutherford had 12 assists and eight aces, while Cui had six digs and three aces. Those eight aces gave Rutherford a new career-high.

Chariho's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Prout, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Chariho wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against East Providence on the 15th. As for Prout, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Coventry on the 18th.
