Baseball Recap: Princeton Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Princeton barely beat Tecumseh the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Braves 8-2 on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Jarrett Kinder made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ryne Wilhite was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Drake Cox, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Princeton's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Tecumseh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Princeton will take on South Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tecumseh, they will square off against Heritage Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
