Football Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

If Springfield was riding high fresh off their 45-0 takedown of Woodward last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils had to suffer through a 48-20 loss at the hands of the Southview Cougars. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Logan Goodrick threw for 94 yards on four of 12 attempts. Byron Jackson was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards.

Moe McArthur had an outrageously good game for Southview as he rushed for 96 yards, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards McArthur has posted since back in August of 2024.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southview, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

As of now, neither Springfield nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
