Baseball Game Preview: Lakota East Thunderhawks vs. Little Miami Panthers

The Lakota East Thunderhawks will take on the Little Miami Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Lakota East: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Little Miami has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Loveland hit Lakota East with a six-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderhawks came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-4.

Meanwhile, Little Miami made easy work of Walnut Hills on Monday and carried off a 12-2 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cam Fox spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Lucas Basta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Little Miami's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Lakota East, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.

Lakota East came out on top in a nail-biter against Little Miami in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Thunderhawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
