The Mater Dei Monarchs will take on the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies in a tournament on Friday. Mater Dei is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

Godinez Fundamental better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Mater Dei's game on Monday is any indication, that's when Mater Dei really gets things going. The Monarchs' defense stepped up to hand Foothill a 3-0 shutout. Give Mater Dei's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit Foothill with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ashton Jones, Isaih Covarrubias, and James Obleda.

Meanwhile, it was close, but Godinez Fundamental ultimately received the gift of a 4-3 win from a begrudging Godinez Fundamental squad.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4-3. As for Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
