Hubbard extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 13-4 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Struthers Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-2 on Tuesday.

As for Struthers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Hubbard, they, and South Range.

For Struthers' part, Jordan Becker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Becker has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hubbard will square off against rival Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.2, the Bulldogs 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Struthers is set to face off against their familiar foe South Range at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
