Softball Recap: Northern Nash Has No Trouble Against Rocky Mount

Northern Nash never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rocky Mount Gryphons with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Clay was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Northern Nash let Kailey Burden and Ambriel Beale run wild. Burden scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Beale scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Burden also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Makayla Harper was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Northern Nash was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Northern Nash's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
