Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corona del Sol, Pinnacle was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Boulder Creek Jaguars by a score of 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won seven in a row.

Pinnacle got a great performance from Noah Weiss as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Weiss has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddox Wahlenmaier, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Escobar, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Boulder Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Pinnacle will be playing at home against Apollo at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Boulder Creek will be paying especially close attention to the Pioneers' matchup: after the Pioneers face off against the Hawks, they'll take on Boulder Creek again at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
