Softball Game Preview: Chatham Cougars vs. Sparta Spartans

The Chatham Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Sparta Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Chatham had taken West Morris Mendham down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Cougars took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 8, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Sparta lost 12-6 to Parsippany Hills on Wednesday.

Chatham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Chatham might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Sparta in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
