The 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior from Puyallup (Wash.) is the nation's top offensive guard. He selected the Cardinal over Michigan.

Playing in the NFL is a dream for Garnett, and Stanford's ability to produce NFL-ready talent was likely a big factor in his decision.

"I do want to be in the NFL," Garnett told MaxPreps last spring. "I definitely want to make sure that [I pick a college] that can produce linemen, that has a coach that is seasoned and as seen a lot of NFL linemen go through the program."

Academics were key in his recruitment. Garnett wants to pursue a career in medicine. His Twitter profile reads "Athlete and future Doctor."

Garnett adds to an already impressive recruiting haul for Stanford. Top running back Barry Sanders and talented linebacker Noor Davis highlight a fine class by head coach David Shaw.

With Garnett off the board, Washington offensive tackle Zach Banner remains as one of the top uncommitted linemen in the country. He's set to make his decision on January 31, on the eve of National Signing Day.
