Baseball Recap: Knippa Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Knippa took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Sabinal, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crushers came out on top against the Yellowjackets on Friday by a score of 7-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win was some much needed relief for the Crushers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Joaquin G, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Knippa's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Sabinal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
