Basketball Game Preview: Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles vs. Harrisburg Tigers

The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles will head out to face off against the Harrisburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Aberdeen Central has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Harrisburg will arrive with eight straight victories.

Last Thursday, Aberdeen Central ended up a good deal behind Washington and lost 54-40. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Warriors are ranked 23rd).

Marshall typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Harrisburg proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 71-62.

Harrisburg pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Aberdeen Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Aberdeen Central skirted past Harrisburg 56-54 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aberdeen Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
