Cashmere had to settle for second on Friday, but Tom McDevitt sure wasn't going down easily. McDevitt wasn't messing around, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. The pitching appearance was his third straight with nine or more strikeouts.

Even though McDevitt couldn't lead Cashmere over Kiona-Benton, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, McDevitt's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Bulldogs' three-game streak of wins on the road.
