Softball Recap: Fairfield's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Fairfield suffered their closest loss since July 1, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets by a score of 6-4. The loss put an end to the Trojans' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fairfield fell to 2-1. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will challenge Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-1 defeat against Albia on the 30th.
