Football Recap: Brilliant Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brilliant extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were outmatched by the South Lamar Stallions and fell 48-12. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Stallions from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Wes Woodard threw for 72 yards and a pair of TDs. Kason Pool was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Jerry Lothrop rushed for 44 yards.

As for South Lamar, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

South Lamar can attribute much of their success to Mason Hardin, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Brilliant will venture away from home to square off against Berry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Lamar, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sulligent at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
