Softball Game Preview: Hayward Hurricanes vs. Rice Lake Warriors

The Hayward Hurricanes will challenge the Rice Lake Warriors on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Hayward is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Baldwin-Woodville as they made off with an 11-5 win. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rice Lake made easy work of Ellsworth on Thursday and carried off a 10-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Hayward is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Rice Lake, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Hayward came out on top in a nail-biter against Rice Lake in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
