Soccer Recap: Oregon Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Oregon won the last time they faced Beaver Dam and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers' defense stepped up to hand the Golden Beavers an 8-0 shutout. Given Oregon's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Beaver Dam are ranked 118th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oregon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five contests. As for Beaver Dam, they now have a losing record of 4-5-2.

Coming up, Oregon will face off against Verona at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Beaver Dam, they will square off against Reedsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
