P.K. Yonge has no trouble against Wildwood

Recap: P.K. Yonge Blue Wave vs. Wildwood Wildcats

The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Wildwood as P.K. Yonge made off with a 81-57 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

P.K. Yonge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joel Washington led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alijah Bertrand, who scored 12 points.

Despite the loss, Wildwood still got an impressive performance from Terriyon Bryant, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Louis Brown was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

P.K. Yonge's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wildwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

P.K. Yonge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. As for Wildwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Hope Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hope Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
