Volleyball Recap: Barberton Takes a Loss

Barberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Tallmadge Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-10, 25-11.

Leading Tallmadge to victory were Taryn Roberts and Sophie Worthington. Roberts had 11 digs and three aces, while Worthington had six digs and three aces. Roberts has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played. Lillian Van Horne also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Barberton's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Tallmadge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Barberton is set to face off against their familiar foe Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tallmadge will take on rival Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
