Softball Game Preview: West Wolfpack vs. Lincoln Trojans

West is 0-10 against Lincoln since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolfpack are taking a road trip to challenge the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. West has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Tracy.

West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malia Morreira, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lincoln got themselves on the board against St. Mary's on Thursday, but St. Mary's never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Rams. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alicia Ott was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Mallory Wagner was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's only posted a batting average of .130.

Lincoln's record is now 11-12. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

West suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Lincoln in their previous matchup on April 3rd. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
