Baseball Game Preview: Forest Bearcats vs. Northeast Jones Tigers

For the second straight game, Forest will face off against Northeast Jones. The Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Forest has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Northeast Jones will arrive with seven straight wins.

Forest fell victim to Northeast Jones and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to the Tigers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bearcats haven't been shut out since back in March.

For Northeast Jones' part, Carter Wiginton was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI Wiginton has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Padgett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Northeast Jones always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest only posted an OBP of .000.

Northeast Jones' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northeast Jones struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
