Soccer Game Preview: Winnetonka vs. Lone Jack

Winnetonka hasn't had much luck against Lone Jack recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Griffins will welcome the Mules at 6:30 p.m. Winnetonka has given up an average of 6 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Winnetonka's offense. They came up short against Kearney on Tuesday, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, Winnetonka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Kearney are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Lone Jack kept a clean sheet against Stover on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 5-0 win. Lone Jack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Ryley Shull and Liesl Langedjik scored all five of Lone Jack's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Lone Jack has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matches. As for Winnetonka, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
