Winston Salem Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Mount Tabor Spartans by a score of 3-1.

Winston Salem Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13.

Leading Winston Salem Christian to victory were Deacon Shotwell and Artur Andrade. Shotwell had 30 digs and two aces, while Andrade had nine digs, seven aces, and one block. Those 30 digs gave Shotwell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Ducusen, who had five digs and four aces.

Winston Salem Christian pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mount Tabor, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winston Salem Christian will welcome Triad Math and Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Bengals at the right time seeing as the Bengals are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mount Tabor, they will be playing at home against Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
