Softball Game Preview: Artesia Pioneers vs. Pioneer Titans

The Artesia Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the Pioneer Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Artesia has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

While Artesia's victory against Whitney wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers skirted past the Wildcats 16-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pioneers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Khloe Loquellano was incredible, going 5-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleyse Foster, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Artesia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pioneer came up short against Cerritos on Tuesday and fell 7-2. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Artesia now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything went Artesia's way against Pioneer in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Artesia made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
