Softball Recap: Berkeley Gets the Win

Berkeley took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Foothill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellowjackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Falcons on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Olive Lightfoot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddie Saeturn, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Berkeley's record now sits at 2-0. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Berkeley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against El Cerrito on the 7th. As for Foothill, they will take on Newark Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
