Basketball Game Preview: Buckeye Central Bucks vs. Elgin Comets

The Buckeye Central Bucks will face off against the Elgin Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Buckeye Central is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Seneca East just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 49-35 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Tigers are ranked 204th).

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Elgin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were outmatched by Wynford and fell 60-21. The contest marked the Comets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Buckeye Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Buckeye Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Elgin when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 38-32 win.
