League recap: Scranton extends winning streak with victory over West Scranton

Scranton extended the longest winning streak in Lackawanna 1 this week by beating West Scranton, 35-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

The Invaders moved up to 166 from 203 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. West Scranton climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-20 win over West Scranton.

Marquis Brownlee was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 16 carries as Joe Gerek's team fell to Scranton. Tyaire Quiller also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.

Dante Pasqualichio put up the best numbers through the air as Abington Heights bested Valley View. He finished with a total of eight completions for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Pasqualichio's favorite target this week was Jc Show, who caught three passes for 50 yards.

Dibileo was the best wideout in Lackawanna 1 this week as the Invaders fell to Mike Marichak's team. Dibileo tallied five receptions for 88 yards. Joe Devine helped West Scranton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Bryan Schor of Delaware Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1132. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, the Knights' Jake McCarthy has rushed for 799 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Show. The Abington Heights star has 24 catches for 485 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Comets take on Scranton Prep. As it stands, Abington Heights is in fourth, while the Cavaliers/Classics are in third.

The Warriors led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on North Pocono.
